How do you choose your training provider?
Are you planning to enrol yourself or one or more employees on a language training course? How do you choose between all the organisations on the market?
Price is often the first consideration, but there are other criteria you need to take into account to make the right choice and avoid unpleasant surprises later on, especially on the internet where the purchasing process can quickly become an obstacle course for customers…
Declaration of activity
First of all, in order to be eligible for funding from a funding body, a vocational training organisation must have an activity declaration number registered with the regional employment office. Please note that this number is in no way an approval, but a compulsory administrative formality for continuing training. It is not, therefore, a selling point in terms of quality, but the minimum requirement for applying for funding from a funder!

Taking your needs into account
The front door and mirror of the organisation: reception and sales. When you made contact, how were you greeted? Were you answered promptly? Were they professional? Did they really listen to you? Were your questions answered? Did you receive a standard proposal or a detailed proposal really tailored to your situation?

Level test
Have you been asked what your level is, or offered to have it tested?
→ At Linguapolis, we ask you to complete a level test and a needs assessment form which will enable us to offer you a programme tailored to your situation and adaptable throughout your course.
Module length
Are you being offered an imposing module of 80 hours or more? Or a first module of 40 hours that you can repeat according to your progress, your motivation or your schedule?
→ At Linguapolis, we don't do hard sell! The length of the module you are offered depends on your needs, your level and your budget. If your budget allows you to do 80 hours but we think a 20 or 30 hour module would be relevant, we tell you clearly, and it's up to you. You can always continue with an additional module at a later date, depending on how satisfied you are with the first module.
Rhythm
As a general rule (and excluding specific short-term projects), a language should be learnt over time, as the brain needs repetition to assimilate it better. It's better to have one or two lessons a week, over 15 or 20 weeks for example, than an intensive daily course of 4 or 6 hours a day for 1 or 2 weeks! These extensive courses also have the advantage that you can apply your knowledge between two lessons, and come back to the next lesson with your questions, the problems you've encountered... Don't let yourself be sold just "the most intensive".

Guarantees
You should also beware of unreal promises: no organisation worthy of the name can guarantee that you will reach a particular level by the end of the course. Too many parameters vary, many of which depend on the learner themselves, their commitment to learning, the time and work they can devote to it, their difficulties, etc.
QUALIOPI Certification
Since 1 January 2022, QUALIOPI quality certification has been required for any funding via public funds (CPF, OPCO...).

Types of courses
What types of course are on offer? Are they tailored to your needs and your project or is it a standard course, the same one offered to all customers?

Certification
Would you like or do you need certification at the end of the course, as part of the CPF or simply to validate your skills? Is the organisation duly authorised to register you for it or make you take it?
→ At Linguapolis, we advise you on which certification to consider if necessary, and we are accredited with France Compétences as part of the CPF for the TOEIC and CLOE. We can also register candidates for BRIGHT, DELF or PIPPLET.
Who are the trainers and what are their profiles?
What experience do they have? Is their background based solely on training? Are they familiar with the business world and how it works? Do you know who your trainer will be?

Rates
Beware of tempting hourly rate proposals that include personal work at home or alone on a computer in a computer room as part of the training hours. As the name suggests, this work is personal and should not be billed! This would have you believe that the price per hour of tuition is unbeatable!
